Hokkien Mee
Hokkien MeeHokkien Mee is a favorite soup noodle of most of the Penang islanders, irrespective of their Chinese origins. This tasty, but slightly hot soup is a broth simmered with pork bones, fried onions, lean pork and shrimps. The boiling broth is then added to a bowl full of cooked yellow noodles and rice vermicelli, fried shrimps, bean sprouts, water convolvulus, hard boiled eggs, sliced lean pork, fried onion and chilli paste, to make up a delicious bowl of Hokkien Mee. In some cases, one can also find pork knuckles, prawns, fish balls and even pork intestines in Hokkien Mee. Of course, the price of it will be adjusted accordingly.

One can find Hokkien Mee in hawker center in every corner of Penang. To the Hokkien ethnic from outside Penang, Hokkien Mee is a must to try.
