    Hi!

I would like to enquire if there is an email address where I can send a complaint to Kek Lok Si temple management?

Recently I have just gone up to Kek Lok Si Temple with my family to feed the tortoises. We bought kangkung from Jusco and went up Kek Lok Si to feed the tortoises.

The kangkung seller at the temple told us off saying that we’re not suppose to bring outside food to feed the tortoises. In order to feed the tortoises, we have to buy from them. A signboard was also placed there saying that no outside food were allowed to feed the tortoises.

In my opinion, I feel that it’s unreasonable to implement such rule. The kangkung seller is in fact monopolizing the business there by prohibiting us to bring kangkung up to the temple to feed the tortoises. This rule will deter us locals from going up to the temple to feed the tortoises on a regular basis.

In addition to that, you can also see that the tortoises are really hungry. Most of them climbing up on each other to have a piece of the vegetable.

A source informed us that the temple management approved this rule because the seller said that they cannot earn a living if people are bringing food to feed the tortoise instead of buying from them. This rule implemented is at the expense of the tortoises living there. It means that, the tortoises have to only eat the vegetables sold by the seller there or not eat at all!

I can agree if the temple prohibits people from bringing food other than kangkung to feed the tortoises but to disallow altogether is absurd! Poor tortoises :-(

Hope you can assist me to convey my concern on this matter.

    Thanking you in advance!

    Hi,

My name is Nott. I am in the Perfume Business in Thailand, and also the joss stick.

I have seen the story about Master Lee Beng Chuan, the “Last” handmade joss stick maker, in Penang. I would like to contact and meet him, to have some conversation and exchange some knowledge about making joss stick.

Could you please help me about his information?, his address, map and phone number, then I will contact and arrange to meet him myself.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,
    Nott
