It link the Penang Island (at Gelugor) to Mainland Malaysia (in Prai) and
measures at 13.5 KM in length. This bridge is reputed to be the longest in Asia
and third longest in the world. Built at a cost of RM800 million, the
construction took about three and a half years to complete by a Korean firm. The
bridge was officially opened to traffic on 1st. September 1985.
