Lions Charity Eco-Fun Walk on Sunday

THE Lions Club of Penang Light will organise the Lions Charity Eco-Fun Walk at the Penang Municipal Park this Sunday to raise funds for its various community service projects.
Proceeds from the funds raised will be channelled to the club’s projects such as the Lions SightFirst Campaign (a global effort by Lions around the world to conquer blindness), health campaigns, environmental projects and presentation of free prosthetic limbs to amputees from all walks of life.
The club hopes to raise about RM50,000 through the event which will be used for the club’s various community service projects and activities for the year.
The event will also see the participation of 500 elderly residents, orphans and handicapped children from 18 charitable homes and institutions in Penang.
State executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow will flag off the walk at 8am.
Well-wishers and donors who wish to contribute towards the cause can call Thor Joon Chew at 016-4220617 or Doris Lee at 012-4819009.
