Team Indonesian PODS team in action en route to winning the Premier Open (Standard Boat) category.

IT was almost a clean sweep for the Indonesian Rowing and Canoeing Association (PODSI) as they clinched five gold medals out of a possible six in the second day of the Plenitude Penang International Dragon Boat Festival.

The gold medals came from the Premier Women 500m and Premier Open 500m, and the Small Boat and Standard Boat categories as well as the Premier Mixed 500m Standard Boat category.

PODSI coach Mohd Suryadi attributed the team’s success to the dedication and hard work put in by the members.

“We have been perfecting our rowing techniques for the past four months and this event is part of our preparation to face the upcoming Sea Games in Indonesia at the end of the year.”
